Does waxing hurt?

This varies for everyone. Hair is being removed from your skin. You may feel uncomfortable initially This will soon ease as blood begins to rush to the area and sooth it. By the time you leave the salon you shouldn't have any pain at all. If you have a low pain threshold, we recommend not booking during your menstrual cycle. Not waxing when you are feeling under the weather. Taking a paracetamol 30 minutes before your appointment.

How long does the hair need to be?

Hair should be at least the length of a grain of rice, around 5mm.  If your hair is  very course, with thick roots, a little longer is better as the wax has more to grip on to.

It is quick?

Our team are experienced waxers.  Speed is of the essence. Our experts will be as quick as the client allows us to be. Whilst we empathise that the treatment can be uncomfortable - the better the client allows us to get on with the job, the better the results. And the he sooner it will be over. The more regularly you wax, the easier it will become.

What is the difference between warm (strip) wax and hot wax?

Warm wax is commonly used for larger areas like legs, arms, back etc.  Wax is spread onto the area, a paper wax is placed on top and pulled away, removing the hair from the root. Hot wax is used for smaller more intimate areas. Also used for coarser or very curly hair that grows in lots of different directions.  Thick wax is applied and will find its own way in to more intimate areas. It grips right around each hair and sets until cool.  No wax strip required. Your therapist will hold the set wax and remove quickly and cleanly. Leaving a clean and smooth result

How long do results last?

All hair has a three stage growth cycle. Hair above the skin will is removed from the root. This hair will take around 6 weeks to form a new root. This will form new hair at the surface in around 4-6 weeks time. There will be second and 3rd hair cycle already forming under the skin.  This can appear any time after you initial waxing. For long lasting results, regular waxing is recommended. All cycles will begin to syncronize and re-grow at the same time.

How often should i rebook my waxing appointment?

We recommend every 4-6 weeks.
